The Eminence in Shadow follows the story of Cid Kagenou, a young man obsessed with the idea of becoming a hidden mastermind controlling events from the shadows. In his original world, Cid’s ambitions were limited by reality, but after dying in an accident, he is reincarnated into a fantastical world of magic and monsters. Seizing the opportunity, Cid creates a fictional organization called Shadow Garden, spinning tales of an evil cult known as the Cult of Diablos.

Unbeknownst to Cid, the cult actually exists, and his fabrications align with reality. As he trains his subordinates and wages battles in the shadows, Cid continues to believe it’s all part of an elaborate game. His journey blends comedy, action, and intrigue, as his accidental brilliance draws him deeper into a conflict he never expected.
